Dean's Message

WELCOME TO THE PRESTIGE AND TRADITION OF KOREA UNIVERSITY’S GRADUATE SCHOOL OF POLICY STUDIES

The Graduate School of Policy Studies at Korea University, established in 1986 is South Korea’s first graduate school specialized in policy studies. Since then, the school has produced numerous experts in policy studies who now play critical roles in politics, public administration, business, law, mass media, and other fields.

Korea University’s Graduate School of Policy Studies is one of the main incubators of policy experts in Korea. We offer various programs including a Master’s Program, a Research Program, and an Advanced Policy Program. The Master’s Program offers various majors, including International Relations; Global Political Studies; Urban & Rural Administration; Economic Policy Studies; Statistical Data Science; Public Audit & Inspection Administration; Public Finance & Tax Policy; Human Settlement Economics; and Social Security Administration. Meanwhile, the Advanced Policy Program serves as a think tank to nurture world-class policy experts and to shape the development of policies.

Now is the time for us to better respond to the transformation underway in our nation and the world, and to prepare for a new leap forward. And the first step is to have a clear understanding of the transformation, actively explore alternatives to work through the current challenges, and build effective and strong human networks for implementing alternatives. Korea University’s College of Political Science and Economics has been playing a pivotal role in the development of social science in Korea its rich intellectual tradition has been passed onto the Graduate School of Policy Studies’ Advanced Policy Program. Under this program, students have opportunities to have no-holds-barred discussions with prominent leaders from a wide range of fields about the great issues of our time.

The faculty members of the Graduate School of Policy Studies are renowned scholars in politics, economics, public administration, and statistics, and leading experts in their respective fields. They provide students with academic knowledge as well as valuable life lessons through a variety of programs to realize intelligence and spiritual attributes.

The school is committed to cultivating academic excellence and facilitating networking among students. For these efforts to come to fruition, the leaders of today, like you, should actively participate in its programs. I would sincerely like to invite you to join our community of intellectuals.
